New-Car Paint Correction & Protection in Warrington

By Alex, Improve Details · Last updated 5 October 2026

Around 95% of new cars arrive with minor paint defects from the factory, transport or dealer preparation. Our new-car bundle corrects those defects with machine polishing, then protects your car with ceramic coating or paint protection film — before it picks up a single swirl mark. Improve Details, Lilford Street, Warrington.

Your new car isn't perfect — here's why

It's the industry's open secret: around 95% of new cars have paint defects on delivery. Your car has been built, shipped, stored, transported and then "prepared" — and every stage leaves marks:

  • Factory: minor orange peel, dust nibs and handling marks.
  • Transport: wash marring and light scratches from shipping and storage compounds.
  • Dealer prep / PDI: holograms and buffer trails from rushed machine polishing, plus wash-induced swirls.

Most owners never notice until the first sunny day — then the holograms appear across the bonnet. We see it weekly in Warrington. The good news: these are exactly the defects paint correction removes.

The new-car protection bundle

One booking, three stages, zero compromises:

  1. New-car paint correction. We remove factory, transport and dealer-prep defects with machine polishing — usually a single or two-stage correction, measured with a paint thickness gauge and finished under inspection lighting.
  2. Protection — your choice. Ceramic coating for gloss, hydrophobics and chemical resistance; PPF for physical stone-chip protection; or PPF on the front end with ceramic over the top.
  3. Aftercare briefing. How to wash it, what to avoid in the first days, and how to keep it looking new for years.

What to tell your dealer

This is the highest-value advice on this page, and it's free: ask your dealer not to wash, polish or valet the car before handover. Dealer preparation causes more paint damage than the factory and transport combined. Ask for:

  • No wash, no polish, no "complimentary detail"
  • Transport protection left on where possible
  • Protective films and stickers removed carefully (or left for us)

Then drive it straight to us on Lilford Street. The less that's done to the paint before we see it, the better the final result.

New EVs

New EVs — Tesla, Polestar, BYD and others — are among our most common new-car protection jobs. They often arrive with noticeable transport and prep defects, and because EV owners tend to keep their cars longer, protection pays back over years of easier washing and preserved paintwork.

New-car protection FAQs

Does a new car need paint correction?

In most cases, yes. Around 95% of new cars have minor paint defects — holograms from dealer preparation, wash marring from transport, or light scratches from pre-delivery inspection. A new-car correction removes these before protection is applied.

Should I get ceramic coating or PPF on a new car?

It depends on how you'll use the car. Ceramic coating gives gloss, hydrophobics and chemical resistance; PPF physically stops stone chips. Many new-car owners choose PPF on the front end with ceramic coating over the whole car — the ultimate combination.

When should I book — before or after delivery?

Book as soon as you know your delivery date. The ideal sequence is: minimal dealer preparation (ask them not to wash or polish it), then straight to us for correction and protection before the car accumulates damage.

Should I let the dealer valet or detail my new car?

Politely decline. Dealer preparation is the single biggest source of holograms and wash marring on new cars. Ask for the car unwashed with transport protection left on where possible, and let us do the first proper clean.

How much does new-car paint protection cost?

It depends on the car, the level of correction needed and whether you choose ceramic coating, PPF or both. Message us on WhatsApp (07482 225323) with your make and model for an accurate quote. (TODO: owner to supply pricing.)

Do you work on new EVs?

Yes — new EVs are some of our most common new-car protection jobs. Tesla, Polestar and other EVs often arrive with notable transport and prep defects, and their owners tend to keep them long-term, making protection excellent value.
